Death
Robert (Bob) Driver died Friday, May 20, 2022, in Durango, Colorado. He was 73 years old and resided in Dove Creek and Cahone, CO. A Celebration of Life will be held for all Friends and Family June 25, 2022 at the Dove Creek Community Center 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with dinner provided. Please join the family and share fond memories of Bob. Bob was born April 19, 1949 in Durango, Colorado, the son of Titus James Furr, and Eileen Joyce Furr. Bob grew up in various cities as a child, eventually settling in Del Norte, CO where he attended and graduated high school. He was an outstanding athlete, excelling in basketball and football. Bob married Gloria Sue Petit on April 24, 1968. He worked for LaPlata Motors in Durango, Dove Creek Implement in Dove Creek, Dolores County Road & Bridge in Dove Creek, and finished his career at the Town of Dove Creek. Bob served on the Dove Creek Voluntary Ambulance Board driving the ambulance for many years. Bob was very gifted mechanically and was able to work on and fix anything. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, rock hunting, pinon nut hunting, gardening, family cookouts, and back country four wheeling in his Bronco with Sue. He is survived by his wife Sue Driver of Cahone; brother Danny Driver of Durango; sister Cindy Rees of Tucson, AZ; half-sisters Vickie (Jim) Ezzell of Bayfield, CO and Tracey (Paul) Palmer of Durango; sons Matthew Driver (Barbara) of Grand Junction, CO and Michael Driver (April) of Rigby, ID; daughters Shannon Garlinghouse of Cahone and Patricia Johnson (Kirby) of Cortez, CO. Bob has 10 grandchildren: Tonia Rose, Thomas Driver, James Garlinghouse, Bobbie Sue Holmes, Aiden Cornish, Kevin Reed, Michael Johnson, Tripp Todd, Titus Driver, and Jorja Driver; 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Nancy Driver, half-sister Karin Furr, and granddaughter Gracen Driver.Published by The Durango Herald on Jun. 21, 2022
