Death

James "Olen" Sharp, 78, of Hot Springs, passed away April 4, 2022. He was born November 5, 1943 in Cedar Glades to Silas and Ruth Sharp. Olen retired from the Garland County Road Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, playing softball and racing stock cars. Olen was a NASCAR fan of Jeff Gordon #24. He is predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 49 years, Patsy McConnell Sharp and his sister, Erma Blocker. Survivors include his daughter, Tammie (John) Furr, sister, Corene (Joe) Harper, granddaughter, Vanessa (Dustin) Traylor, great-grandchildren, Hayden Traylor and Ryker Traylor. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery, Mtn. Pine. Pallbearers are Ryan Anderson, David Penny, Dennis Mitchell, Ricky Anderson, Doug Harper, and David Harper. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Harper, Robert Blocker, Vernon Davis, and the Monthly Breakfast Club.
