Death

Donald I. Hassinger, 83, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at his home. Don lived in Stafford County for more than 30 years. He enjoyed yard sales and flea markets. Following his retirement from the telephone company, he turned this enjoyment into a business he called Second Chance. Don never met a stranger or someone in need he would not help. Survivors include his wife Mary Hassinger; son Tim Hassinger (Cheryl); daughters Cyndie Keyser (Ray), Karen Fulton (Brad) and Kathleen Furr (Doug); brother Clarence Hassinger (Jessie); sister Evabelle Rishel; grandchildren David Mock (Erin), Robert Hassinger (Katie), Amanda Furr, Josh Hassinger, Victoria Buchheit and Jennifer Buchheit; and great-grandchildren Carter Hassinger and Matthew Mock. He was preceded in death by his children Teresa, David and Ann Hassinger. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
