Mrs. Verna A. "Mimi" Yeats, 100, retired Executive Assistant to the Oklahoma State Superintendent of Education, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at her Home in Oxford, MS. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Allen Officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home and also from 1:00 P.M until 2:00 P.M at First Baptist Church prior to the Service on Tuesday. She was Born in Pueblo, CO. Mrs. Yeats was the Widow of Park A. Yeats. She was a Member of First Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday School, singing in the Choir and her involvement in the Prisoner Visitation Program. Mrs. Yeats served as Past President of the Cosmopolitan Club. She loved spending time with her Family, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Survivors include a Daughter, Cynthia Linton and Husband, Royce of Oxford; six Grandchildren, Ginger Harrell, Susannah Furr, Libby Furr, Phyllis Linton, Cynthia G. Linton and Leslie M. Linton and eight Great Grandchildren.Endnotes
