Death

ASHLAND, Va. — Mary Barrett Keefe, 84, died Oct. 20, 2007. She was born July 3, 1923 in Norfolk, Va., the great-granddaughter of Charles and Abigale (Witherspoon) Barrett of Rockport, and the great-great-granddaughter of Daniel and Peggy (Grose) Barrett of Camden. For her, the family cottage on Megunticook Lake in Camden represented peace and joy. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Dr. William E. Keefe Sr.; two children, Catherine Keefe Furr of Richmond, Va. and William E. Keefe Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Reidsville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Rachel Keefe Jacobs and her husband, Kyle, and Matthew W. Keefe, all of Greensboro, N.C.; and two great-grandsons, Owen David Jacobs and Andrew William Jacobs, both of Greensboro, N.C. Her ashes will be scattered in her beloved Maine. She will be missed.
