Death

Sarah Catherine Furr, 65, of Albemarle, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle, NC. She was born on July 8, 1955 in Stanly County to the late Archie Pink Lambert and Carrilee (Austin) Lambert of Stanfield, NC. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janet Renee McCall. Catherine graduated from West Stanly High School and went on to attend Stanly Community College. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist for CMC - Atrium for 29 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Tema Smith and husband, Eric of Albemarle; son, Daniel Furr and wife Kelli of Locust; sister, Carolyn Price and husband Rick of Midland; two brothers, Wayne Lambert and wife Andrea of Charlotte and Avery Lambert and wife Tammy of Midland; grandchildren, Mallary and Cole Smith and Karsyn and Kailey Furr. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, 320 South Central Avenue, Locust on Friday, January 22, 2021, 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr., officiating. Burial will take place in the First Baptist Cemetery of Locust. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Furr family.
