Death
Lorene Nance Furr Mabe, 67, of 1911 Midwood Dr., Albemarle, died at 10:05 a.m. Monday, Nov 9, 1998, in Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born March 22, 1921, in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Flavella Thomas Nance and was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Dwight Furr of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Vivian Estridge Kelly of Singapore and Melba Furr of Albemarle; four brothers, G.T. Nance of Claremont, Seabron Nance of Rockwell and Rommie Nance of Richfield; a sister, Lois Hartsell of Richfield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, November 10, 1998
