Death
Orra Nanette Melvin, a retired inspector for Cam Manufacturing in Chatom, died March 11, 2007 in Chatom at the age of 88. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatom. Survivors include three daughters, Joy Beech and Jean Moseley, both of Chatom and Joan F. Lomax of Fruitdale; sister, Maude McClinton of Chatom; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service was March 13 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating.
