Death
Mrs. Chattie Jean Clontz Wilson, 90, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Second Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis. Rev. Mark Clontz will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm Tuesday at Second Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wilson was born December 20, 1929 in Union County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Baxter J. Clontz and Ollie Jane Helms Clontz. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, worked with Vacation Bible School, Ladies Circle and the church choir and many other needs around the church. Chattie also received the Honorary Life Membership to the Women of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A, for her commitment to Christ and the mission of the church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Tom Wilson who died in February of 2002. Mrs.Wilson is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Wilson Furr and husband Chip of Midland, NC; two grandchildren, Madelyn Furr, Makenzie Bates and husband Neal, also numerous nieces and nephews.
