Death

ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Green, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Stanly Memorial Hospital after a stay a Forest Oakes Nursing Center. She was born February 23, 1924 in Stanly County, and was the daughter of the late Klon Roy and Lena Lowder Burleson. She was a member of Parkway United Methodist Church and a graduate of Endy High School and worked during WWII at the Pentagon. Returning to Stanly County, she was an executive Secretary at Collins & Aikman Corp. in Norwood for 35 1/2 years before her retirement. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Reynolds (Bill) Greene, a daughter Sherry Greene Lewis and husband Terry of Albemarle, a granddaughter Lindsay Lewis Foley and husband Joey of Charlotte and Georgia and a grandson Tyler Lewis of Raleigh. Four siblings and spouses, Ted E. Burleson and wife Carolyn, Johnny P. Burleson and wife Carol, Hilda Burleson Snuggs all of Albemarle and Del Burleson Nunn and husband Jack of Indian Trail. She was preceded in death by her brother Jay Brice Burleson. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Stanly Funeral Home, Inc. prior to the funeral service at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2004 in the Stanly Memorial Chapel. The Rev. David Hatley of Parkway and Rev. Buddy Compton of Pine Grove Un. Methodist Churches will officiate. Burial will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times, the family will be at the Lewis Home, 1221 Heritage Drive, Albemarle, NC. Memorial contributions can be made to Parkway United Methodist church c/o Rev.
