KANNAPOLIS - Joseph Michael Cannon Sr., 81,of 210 Eddleman Rd., died July 31, 2008, after 6 weeks of declining health at Transition Health Care Services of Kannapolis. Mr. Cannon was born January 27, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was the son of Walter and Agnes McMann Cannon. Mr. Cannon retired from Hilbish Ford where he was the Sales Manager. He had also been employed by George Ballentine Ford in Greenwood, S.C. Mr. Cannon was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Kannapolis. He was a veteran of US Navy during WW II. He was a life member of the VFW #8989. Mr. Cannon is preceded in death by wife, Helen Jean Cannon and grandson, Christopher Michael Furr. Mr. Cannon is survived by five children, Lani Cannon of Charleston S.C., Joan Cannon Dillard of Kannapolis, Joe M Cannon Jr, USN-Retired of Kannapolis, Jeanrrie Parnell of Kannapolis, Teci Clark of Canton, Mich.; five grandchildren, Cooper Casner of Charlotte, Brad Clark of Canton, Mich., Josh Cannon of Warner Robbins, Ga., Sgt. Michael Cannon of US Army Hinesvilie, Ga. and Jodie Richey of Saluda, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Michael Powell of Kannapolis, Cooper Jay Casner of Charlotte, Taya Casner of Charlotte, Lathen Cannon of Warner Robbins, Ga., Anna Cannon of Hinesvilie, Ga.; and one brother, Bobby Cannon of Philadelphia, Pa. Service and Burial: Funeral Services will be a 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kannapolis, officiated by Father AL Riquelme with burial at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the daughter's home, Joan Dillard at 6025 Goldfish Rd., China Grove, N.C.
