Death

CONCORD - Larry Edward Reece, 78, passed away on Aug. 26, 2010, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, at Carolina Memorial Park, with Rev. Randy Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 p.m., Sunday, at Wilkinson Funeral Home. He was born in Haywood County on May 16, 1932, to the late Theodore and Maggie Smith Reece. Mr. Reece was a longtime truck driver for Barrier Grain and Hammonds Hauling. Mr. Reece is survived by his wife, Naomi Steele Reece; and children, Glenda Williams, Edward Reece, Allen Reece, Margaret Sawyer, Brenda Long, and Donna Furr; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reece is also preceded in death by a son, Grady Reece.
