BORGER - Kenneth E. Melton, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Melton was born March 30, 1930, in Muleshoe. He was a retired carpenter with Carpenters Local Union No. 665 in Amarillo. Survivors include two sons, Bruce Melton of Amarillo and Mike Melton of Fort Sumner, N.M.; four daughters, Pat Kreutziger and Diane Stavlo, both of Dumas, Karen Neslage of Borger and Tresa Ward of Weatherford; a brother, Terry Melton of Arlington; a sister, Ann Hall of Granbury; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 14, 2004
Kenneth E. Melton, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 12, in Borger. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in "The Field of Honor" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Melton was born on Mar. 30, 1930 in Muleshoe. He had been a Borger resident since 1974. He was a retired carpener with Carpenters Local Union #665 in Amarillo. He attended high school at Ft. Sumner, N.M. He married Amelia Merlene Furr in June, 1965 in Dallas. She preceded him in death on Apr. 17, 2000. He was also preceded in death by two sons - Dennis Melton and Kenneth Lewis Melton. He served in the US Army during World War II. He is survived by two sons- Bruce Melton and wife, Patsy of Amarillo, Mike Melton and wife, Sheila of Ft. Sumner, N.M., four daughters - Pat Kreutziger and husband Darrell of Dumas, Karen Neslage and husband, Terry of Borger, Tresa Ward and husband Billy of Weatherford, Diane Stavlo and husband, Dave of Dumas; brother - Terry Melton of Arlington, one sister- Ann Hall of Grandbury, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
