Notes
Death
Boy Aided By Readers Dies at 12Raylon Wayne Furr, 12, who doctors doubted would live through December 1970, died Thursday at Hissom Memorial Center. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Furr, 1447 N. Evanston Ave., Raylon was afflicted in 970 with Schilder’s disease, an ailment which causes deterioration of the brain cells. As the disease progressed during 1970, the family’s resources were exhausted by medical expenses. A Tulsa Daily World story about the Furrs’ situation resulted in toys and donations for Raylon and his younger sister, Tracy. Until recently the boy's condition had stabilized but still required 24-hour care by Mrs. Furr and the boy's grandmother, Mrs. Marcus Furr. The boy was admitted to Hissom this past January when his mother could no longer give him the specialized care he required. Also surviving are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Snyder, 1443 N, Evanston Ave. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Springdale Baptist Church. Burial will be at Floral Haven Cemetery.
