Melvin R. Brown "Rex", age 81, of Waukegan, passed away June 20, 2009 in Waukegan, at Vista East Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1927 in Pekin, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years. He retired as Foreman for Amoco Tools after 20 years. He was an avid woodworker and loved to travel and camp. Survived by his wife, Martha "Marcie" of 59 years; two daughters, Darcie (her partner Sandra Sullivan) Brown, and Glenda Bingales; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Cleo Sipes; one nephew, Dana Sipes; and many nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, Lemeul and Leola Brown. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Road. Graveside Service at Highland Memorial Park following at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fleet Reserve Assoc.Published in News Sun on June 23, 2009
