Death

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Fortner (Concord, North Carolina), who passed away on May 28, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Horace Fortner and Reba Smith Fortner. He is survived by : his wife Melanie Fink Fortner; his children, Lori Ann Moseley (Doug), Lisa Lynn Furr (Jeff) and Michael K. Fortner (Melanie M. Fortner); his grandchildren, Laura F. Huie, Joshua Ray Furr, Kayla Moseley and Matthew K. Fortner; his great grandchildren, Hutch and Hallie Huie; and his sister Barbara Brooks. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2020 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31st 2020 at 1:30 PM at the same location. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
