Death

Mildred Greene Williams, age 86, of Monroe, NC, passed away Friday afternoon, February 21, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 5417 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC, 28110, officiated by Pastor Stephen Watkins. The family will receive friends at Mill Creek Baptist beginning at 1:30 PM on Sunday, prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born June 12, 1933, in Union County, NC, to the late Philas Greene and Mamie Furr Greene. She married the love of her life, Conley Williams, on her 15th birthday. They were married 59 years until his passing in 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Vernie Carriker and Nell Honeycutt. Mildred is survived by a son, Steve Williams and wife Terry of Monroe, NC, three daughters; Ann James and husband Terry of Wadesboro, NC, Carol Rushing and husband Eddie of Monroe, NC, and Penny Greene and Dwain of Monroe, NC. Survivors also include 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials in Mildred's honor may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W.
