Death

Ruby Beatrice Smith Furr, 88, of Concord, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at home. Ruby was born March 29, 1931 in Cabarrus County to the late Thomas and Mary Smith. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Sally Honeycutt, Elsie Mae Smith, Naomi Tucker, and Betty Bennick; and brother, Clyde Smith. Ruby was a devoted Christian and member of Cold Water Baptist Church. She enjoyed life. Ruby was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed quilting and baking cakes. Ruby loved completing crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife, aunt and great-aunt. Ruby loved her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and grandchildren. Survivors include beloved husband of 68 1/2 years, Robert Lee Furr of Concord, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5pm - 7pm, Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be 11am Monday, at Cold Water Baptist Church 1045 Union St. S., Concord, officiated by Rev. James Posey. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, Concord.
