Death
Thomas Raymond Purifoy, 71 of Hampton Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27th, 2019. Thomas was born on March 12th, 1948 in Camden Arkansas. He was born to the late Floyd and Mary Nell Purifoy. After graduating from Harmony Grove High School he attended diesel mechanic school in Nashville TN. After that, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1968 until 1971 including time in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War he was assigned to River Division 521. While in service, he received the Bronze Star, a Combat of Action ribbon, a Vietnam Service Metal, and a National Defense Service metal. In 1971, he married the late Carol (Johnson) Purifoy. They had two children, Krista Lynn and William"billy" Floyd. Carolyn died in 2000. In 2002 he married Linda Gail Purifoy. He was a member and deacon at Antioch Baptist Church in Hampton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Gail Purifoy of Hampton; born to Thomas and Carol were Krista (Ruff) Rogers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and William (Billy) Floyd Purifoy of Conway; stepson, Kevin(Cathy) Aufdenkamp of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and siblings; Regenia (Donald) Aksamit of Rothsay, Minnesota; Thurman (Madeline) Purifoy of Crossett, Arkansas; Martha (Robert) Ard of Cabot, Arkansas; and Holand (Amelia) Purifoy of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed taking walks with his pup, and working on anything he could get his hands on.Endnotes
