Death

Mr. Tony Maurice Hare, 70 of Melbourne, Florida and formerly of Holden Beach died Monday October 29, 2018. Mr. Hare was born in Wayne County, NC on June 27, 1948 and was the son of the late Albert Lee Hare and Gladys Aycock Hare. He graduated from Shallotte High School in 1967 and obtained an Associates degree at Cape Fear Community College in 1976. He was a retired central office technician from Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking , oil painting and pottery with his wife Brenda. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Brenda Kay Hare; a daughter, Michelle Furr and husband Keith of Hebron, Kentucky, a son, Christopher Hare from Altus, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Devin Furr, Emma Furr, Nathan Furr and Jorden Hare. Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 3, 2018 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Sabbath Home Baptist Church with Reverend Wade McLamb and Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends are invited to a time of visitation with the family at Sabbath Home Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon from one o’clock until three o’clock prior to the funeral service.
