Death

Mr. Joe Billy Hatley, age 85 of Albemarle passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 in the Stanly Regional Medical Center. His graveside service will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Albemarle, NC with the Elder Ritchie Broadway officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the hour of the service. Mr. Hatley was born May 10, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Franklin Eli Hatley and Zula Belle Furr Hatley. He was a retired employee of Cannon Mills, Kannapolis, NC and attended Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Beatrice Eudy Hatley of the home, his stepmother, Wilma Hatley of Albemarle, one son, Michael Joe Hatley of Albemarle, two daughters, Deborah Ann Hatley Bost and husband Larry of Norwood, and Donna Lynn Hatley Phillips and husband Rodney of China Grove, one brother, Ted Hatley of Albemarle, one halfbrother Donnie Hatley of Albemarle, three halfsisters, Frankie Gail Harris, Melinda Joan Lambert both of Albemarle, and Jean Darlene Page of Locust. seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
