Mrs. Brenda Mae Furr Hill, age 69, of 405 East 5th Street, Oakboro, NC, passed away on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC. Her family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and her funeral will be at 4 PM on Sunday, October 24th, 2010 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Walters will officiate and burial will be in the Oakboro Cemetery. Born April 21st, 1941 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Allen C. Furr and Carrie Huneycutt Furr and was educated at Endy High School. she was a former employee of Stanly Knitting Mill and a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and painting. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Larry Wilson Hill, Sr.; two sons, Larry W. Hill, Jr. and wife Christine Q. Hill of Oakboro and Jeff A. Hill and wife Mandy Hill of Oakboro; four brothers: Wayne furr of Albemarle, Horace Furr of Albemarle, Calvin Furr of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Boyd Furr of Albemarle; three sisters: Helen Hathcock of Norwood, Ruby Rummage of Albemarle, and Evola Thompson of Norwood; and four grandchildren: Will Hill, Paden Hill, Rylie Hill, and Rance Hill.Concord & Kannapolis Independent Tribune, Concord, North Carolina, October 23, 2010
