Mt. PLEASANT Joyce Lee Gibson Furr, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Tucker Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, at Gordon Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Gary Morris. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Furr was born June 8, 1929, in Guilford County, daughter of the late William A. Gibson and Catherine Pearl Moore Gibson. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach and spending time with her family. In her spare time, she played word search games. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Furr and a son-in-law, Tony Ledbetter. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Harkey (Jerry) of Locust, Nancy Morris (Sam) Concord, and Debbie Ledbetter of Concord and a son, Jeff Furr of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant is serving the Furr family.
