She is survived by her children, Trent Morgan (Sheila) of Oakboro, Cathy Furr of Stanfield, Lynn Lowder (John) of Millingport, and four grandchildren: Marc (Amy) Morgan of Oakboro, Justin (Jen) Furr of Boynton Beach, FL, Kristen Underwood of Oakboro, and Seth (Candace) Furr of Anderson, SC. Mrs. Morgan was retired from Allison Manufacturing Co. and balanced public work with her skill as an excellent homemaker. She taught the importance of caring and compassion through her actions, and served as an excellent example to her family and others through her unselfish generosity and love. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church where for many years, as her health permitted, she served on the VBS Refreshment Team and the Benevolence Committee. As a result of her nurturing spirit, she eagerly provided meals for bereaved families and the sick. Her passion was feeding others and food was the vehicle through which she showed her love for them. She was a person of great compassion toward the needy, the elderly, children and particularly those less fortunate in society. A celebration of her life was held Wednesday, Dec 27, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Stanfield, NC. The family received friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, with the service following at 3:00 PM. Pastor Glenn Johnson of Philadelphia Baptist Church and Pastor Robert Britt of West Stanly Christian Ministry will officiate. Pall bearers for her service are Marc Morgan, Justin Furr, Seth Furr, Brack Morgan, Jeff Barbee and Jim Cameron. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the many friends, neighbors and family members that have shown love and support to her over the years and to Hospice of Stanly County for their care and compassion. They also extend a very special thank you to her niece, Carol Goodman, for the love, care and compassion shown to her and to all the family during such a difficult time. In lieu of flowers and in memory of her passion for feeding others, donations may be made to the West Stanly Christian Ministry, P.O. Box 27, Stanfield, NC 28163. Edwards Funeral Home of Norwood will be serving the Morgan Family.
