Death
MT. PLEASANT Robert "Dub" Wilson Fink, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Northeast Medical Center. He was born Jan. 9, 1940, son of the late Robert Morrison Fink and Ethel Furr Fink. He retired from Cannon Mills. Robert had an amazing love for his horses, Shades and Sizzle. Throughout his life time he showed his horses all over the state, winning numerous ribbons and trophies. He trained horses and taught many young people to ride. His lifetime dream became reality several years ago when his daughter built him his horse barn, where they house and train horses. They now have 20 horses that they are training. He will truly be missed by the staff there at the farm, his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Daphne Rose Fink; and brother, Clement Fink. Survivors include daughter, Olivia Davis, of Harrisburg; sisters, Peggy Clontz, of Monroe, Mary Brooks (EJ), of Stanfield; brothers, Boyce "Boss" (Linda), of Concord, Clarence "Bub" (Geraldine), Ernest (Carolyn), of Mt. Pleasant, Tony (Stephen), of Matthews; sister-in-law, Freddie Fink, of Concord; special friends, Alexis Osouna, Jennifer Dewyea, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church, 7601 Brusharbor Lane, Concord. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorials be made to American Saddlebred Horse Association, 4083 Iron Works Pkwy, Lexington, KY 40511, or the charity of your choice.Endnotes
