Notes
Death
Isaac FURR Found Hanging By A Plow-Line. Maysville, Ga., May 21- Isaac Furr, a prominent farmer of Banks county, hanged himself in his barn this morning after breakfast. He was found at 11 o'clock suspended by a plow-line which he securely fastened to a rafter and swung himself from the loft. He was well as usual. He had been somewhat despondent, but no cause can be assigned for the rash act. The news of his death was quickly sent to friends in Homer and the coroner is now making presentations for an inquest in the morning. He was about 60 years of age, a good, quiet citizen and successful farmer. The Atlanta Constitution, 22 May 1891
TIRED OF LIFE
Mr. Isaac Furr, of Banks County, Hangs Himself. Homer, Ga., May 22. — One of the most tragical deaths that has ever occurred in the history of Banks county was that of Mr. Isaac Furr on yesterday morning. He arose early and went about his usual work. Having been absent from the house several hours, one of his grand-children, a little four year old, went to the lot and found him in the barn. Seeing that there was something wrong, the child returned to the house, and told its grand-mother. She immediately went to the barn, finding him a corpse, he having committed suicide by climbing on the joist, tying a rope around it, and one end around his neck and jumping off. Mr. Furr lived two miles from Homer, in the direction of Maysville. He was an old and respected citizen, and many friends will hear of his rash act with profound regret, the cause of which is not known. Supposed to be financial failure. He leaves a wife and three children. An inquest will be held to-day.
