Death
Mrs. Mary Furr Hatley, 90, of Route 4, Albemarle, died Monday morning at 7:30 in Stanly County Hospital after two weeks of declining health. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in New Life Baptist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Newell McMahan and Rev. Bob Laxton will officiate, and interment will be in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Adam Hatley of Lexington and Levi and William Hatley of Albemarle; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Bowers and Mrs. James Morton, both of Route 4, Albemarle, and Mrs. E. R. Coley of Albemarle: 20 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren. The body will remain at Stanly Funeral Home until placed in the church to lie in state 30 minutes priof to the rites. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9. Mrs. Hatley was the daughter of the late Levi and Maggie Green Furr and was born on August 21, 1882, in Cabarrus County. Her husband, William F.
