Death

Douglas Green, 72, of Concord, NC passed away Friday, October 14, 2022. Doug was born July 26, 1950 in Kershaw, South Carolina to the late Thomas Andrew Green and the late Edna Beatrice Faulkenberry Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Tonda Gail Furr Green in 2018; brothers, Ernest Green, Jack Green and Paul Green; and sister, Jenny Frances Green. He met the love of his life Tonda Gail Furr Green, and moved to Concord, NC, where they raised their boys Eric and Anthony, whom he loved more than they will ever know. He also took pride in his grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with his dog, listening to music, talking to his family on the phone, and visiting his hometown whenever he could. He had a playful relationship with his siblings and took pleasure in making them laugh. The love they have for one another can never be replaced. The memories they shared will never be forgotten. He was a loving son, husband, and father. He was a loyal brother, and a dear uncle. He was a faithful friend to everyone he loved. The beautiful moments he shared with us will always speak to the great person he was. Our loving memories will last forever. He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Shelley) and Eric (Elizabeth) McManus. Grandsons Devin, Todd, Daniel and Garrett McManus. Granddaughter: Haley McManus,Great grandchildren: Liam and Raelyn McManus; his siblings, brother, Danny Green; brother, J.W. Green; brother, Mike Green; brother, Grover D. Green; sister, Kathy Knight; sister, Mary Ellen Fredrickson; and sister, Edna Lynn Roberts. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Green family.
