Death
Clyde E Murphree of 724 Catalpa, 69, died early Sunday morning at the EH Crump Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for about a week. Services will be held at 10 am Tuesday at the National Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev Jimmy Walker, pastor, and the Rev Paul Harwood of the Lyon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Lambert Cemetery. Before his retirement. Mr Murphree had farming interests at Big Creek. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs Gertrude Tedford Murphree, five sons, Maurelle Murphree of Chapman, Kan, Curtis Murphree of Auburn, Ala, Dwight Murphree, John T Murphree and Henty Murphree, all of Clarksdale, two foster sons, Frank Furr of Dover, Dela, and Huber Furr of Tampa, Fla, two daughters, Mrs Lee L Duke of Memphis and Mrs Richard Brannon of Mesquite, Tex, a foster daughter, Mrs George H Schieder of Clarksdale; two sisters, Mrs Jessie Brower of Lambert and Mrs Lola Nolan of Memphis, a brother, AE Murphree of Clarksdale, and 17 grand-children.Endnotes
