Death

Charles David Morton, 60, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home. David was born July 13, 1960 in Stanly County to the late Ralph Columbus Morton and the late Flora Gerline Morton. David loved working on his cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was also preceded in death by brother, Gary Wayne Morton. The family will have a visitation from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 North Second Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Survivors include wife, Nancy Morton of Oakboro; step-sons, Terry Michael Bowers and Alvie Lee Furr Jr; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nephews, Kenny Joe Gilmore, Stevie (Beth) Morton, and Lanny Joe Morton; nieces, Michelle Elaine Clontz and Jessie Morton; sisters, Lina Jacobs, Mary Pennington; brothers, Darrell Morton and Rodger Allen Morton; and David's four legged son Granger and grand puppy Spice. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 2101 Rexford Rd #165W, Charlotte, NC 28211. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Morton family.
