Death

Mr. Ernest DeWitt Wiseman, 60, of 841 Coventry Lane died Saturday at University Of Pittsburg Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa. Born in McDowell County, N.C. on Septembere 24, 1945, he was a son of the late Cecil Strickland Wiseman and Emma Holdsclaw Wiseman who survives and is of Statesville. He was an automobile dealer and an avid fan of fishing, NASCAR racing, University Of North Carolina sports and the New York Yankees baseball. On August 21, 1983, he married the former Debbie Furr who survives. Also surviving are a son, Courtney Strickland Wiseman of Wilmington, a daughter, Jennifer Edwards and her husband, Jim of Myrtle Beach, two grandchildren, Landon and Luke Edwards, a brother, Lester Wiseman and his wife, Sonia of Mooresville and two sisters, Faye Pharr and her husband, William of Greensboro and Ann Sharpe and her husband Jerry of Statesville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Bailey. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 Wednesday at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Wiseman officiating. The family will assemble at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Sharpe at 141 Millstone Rd. Statesville and will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M.
