She spent enjoyable times operating a basement Flea Market which became a favorite community gathering place and where neighbors and cousins like Ed and Hazel Harris could visit. Betty was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Group. She was an active member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered in the community not only as a smart business lady, but as a caring and supportive member of the greater Burleson family and the community.
