Death

LEXINGTON Rick Patterson 60, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at his residence. Rick was born March 20, 1955, in Shelby, North Carolina, to Phyllis Furr Stone (Gene) of Crossville, Tennessee, and the late Roger Glenn Patterson. He was baptized in the Baptist Faith by his grandfather, W.T. Furr. Rick had retired after forty years in the building industry. Mr. Patterson was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam conflict. Rick was also an avid Gamecock fan and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. In addition to his mother and stepfather, Rick is survived by daughters, Kimberly Patterson of Columbia, and Kate Patterson of Asheville, North Carolina; sister, Barbara Turgeon (Bob) of Tennessee; and grandson, Jackson Riddle. Rick is also survived by his 100 year old grandmother, Rosa Furr of Jonesville, North Carolina; and three nephews of Columbia, Alex, Chris and Brad Flenniken. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice.
