Death
Floye "Pop" Whitehead died April 24, 2015; he was 95 years old. Mr. Whitehead is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Brown Whitehead; wives, Allene Groves Patten ('63) and Edith Gore ('02); son, Roy T. ('04); three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Whitehead is survived by daughters, Mary Emily (Randy) Bouldin and Mary Ruth (Rick) Furr of Monroe, NC; sons, Bill Whitehead of Duluth, GA, and Jay Gore (Stephanie); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Whitehead was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle; he will be dearly missed. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, retired from TVA, and served as Elder at Pegram Church of Christ for 25 years. Visitation will be Sunday, April 26 from 12 Noon ~ 2 p.m. with a Remembrance of Life beginning at 2 p.m., all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 646-9292.
