HATLEY, Marvin Eli
Marvin Eli HATLEY was born April 25, 1923 in Stanly County to DanielVance and Ida MORTON HATLEY.
He enlisted in 1942 in Stanly County in the US Navy. He served in the Armed Guard.
On February 5, 1945 Hatley was killed when the ship he was on. a tanker, loaded with fuel land destined for the war, collided with another ship in New York Harbor. He is buried in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
