Death

PEACHLAND - Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Furr, 58, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, NC died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Monroe Rehabilitation in Monroe. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, March 20, 2015, at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Andrea McCumber officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Thelma was born December 26, 1956 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Everett and Margie Weaver Ellington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Morris Furr, brother, Curtis Ellington and friend, Alfred Skaggs. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Johnny Thomas of Peachland and her grandson, Grant Jonathan Thomas of Peachland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, c/o Susie McSwain, 424 Pork Rd., Peachland, NC 28133 or Anson County Animal Shelter, 101 S.
