Death

Retired Army SFC Vernon L. "Bunny" Turnage, 84, of Linden, North Carolina died in the VA Medical Hospital in Fayetteville on Friday, January 9, 2015. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM followed by burial in Erwin Memorial Park in Erwin, North Carolina with full military honors.  The family will receive friends at a visitation prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. He is survived by his wife, Nell Turnage; daughter, Pam Pitman and her husband, Gary Pitman; daughter, Phyllis Furr and her husband, Lane Furr; son, Charles Turnage and his wife, Mary Turnage; sister, Delores Quick; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
