Death

OLD FORT Danny Hudgins, 66, of Old Fort, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Yancey County, to the late Wayne and Ivory Ogle Hudgins. Danny was a carpenter and he loved to work. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Hudgins; and four brothers, Aaron, Billy, Charles and Levi Hudgins. Surviving Danny are his wife, Martha Ann Furr Hudgins, of the home; two daughters, Katilin Hudgins, of the home and Angie Patton and husband, Jeff, of Burnsville; two granddaughters, Amanda Whitson and husband, Michael and Jennifer Patton, all of Burnsville; two sisters, Venell Hudgins Burleson and husband, Paul, of Barnardsville and Juanita Smith, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, James Furr and wife, Erica, of Old Fort; one sister-in-law, Jean Hudgins, of Valdese; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
