Death

MIDLAND - Auttie Mae Myers Kluttz, 83, of 8670 Hwy 200, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at Transitional Health Services. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cold Water Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sam Hopkins and the Rev. Buck Canup officiating. There will be a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Mrs. Kluttz was born May 30, 1924 in Union County the daughter of the late John James Myers and the late Delphia Selina (Griffin) Myers. She had been employed as a Yarn Hand. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Barbee, brothers, John Myers and Hermon Myers and sisters, Minnie Helms and Lessie Helms. Survivors include her sons, James D. Barbee of Kannapolis, Howard E. Barbee of Arkansas, Larry W. Barbee of Gold Hill, Michael S. Barbee of Rutherfordton, Johnny M. Barbee of Concord and Floyd W. Barbee of Carterville, Ga.; daughter, Janice (Barbee) Furr of Midland; brother, Luther Myers of Concord; sister, Ruby Phillips of Concord; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will meet at the home of son, John Barbee, 5374 Blackwelder Road, Concord. Memorials may be made to Cold Water Baptist Church, 1045 Union St. S., Concord, NC 28025.
