Death

Betty Greaves Johnson, 90, died October 16 in Birmingham after a brief illness. Born in 1931 to the late Jesse and Roma Greaves, she was reared in Camden AK. She was married to Forrest Johnson for 63 years until his death in 2014. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Marilyn) and David (Claudia), and one daughter, Vickie Furr (Gary), 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Betty was a deeply committed Christian who was active in church. To her final days, she was a woman faithful in prayer for all she loved. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to acknowledge the many friends who loved and prayed for her, and especially acknowledge the outstanding and tender care given her by the Compassus Hospice team in her last days. Memorials may be sent to Riverchase Baptist Church. At Betty's request, there will be a private memorial service.
