Ruth Holmes Osborne was reunited with her beloved husband, Max, Thursday May 19, 2022. The daughter of Frank and Mary Holmes, she was born in Trenton, TN on March 29, 1923. Ruth and Max were married June 16, 1951. They had 3 daughters Jennie (Carson) Looney, Mary Lynn (Dr. Mark) Harper, and Carol (Dr. Philip) Furr. Ruth, lovingly known as “Mom”, was a member of the Rives Union Church in Rives, TN. She graduated from UT Knoxville and worked in Hardin and Obion County as a home demonstration agent. Ruth was an accomplished seamstress and took pride in designing and creating her daughters’ clothes. She also loved gardening and flower arranging, reading, and memorizing scripture. “Mom” was very active in her children and grandchildren lives. She enjoyed time at the lake with her family and any activities in which they were involved. Grandchildren include Lindsay (Chris) Jakubauskas, Peyton (Jill) Harper, Clayton (Tish) Furr, Nicholas Looney, Elizabeth (Dr. Brandon) Scott. Mom thoroughly enjoyed her 5 great grandchildren Isla Jakubauskas, Boone Harper, Lennon and Henry Scott, and Finley Furr. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of 2 new grandchildren in July and November. Pallbearers are her son-in-laws, grandsons, and grandson-in-laws. The visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm at Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton, TN Saturday, May 21, 2022 with a service at 3:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Oaklong Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers Judy Golden, Martha Pratt, Delois Coplin, Deloris Eckford, and Felisha Eskew, whom she so dearly loved and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude and Samaritan’s Purse.Endnotes
