She taught in the high schools of the Mississippi Delta. Mrs. Furr was among the founders of the Hollandale Presbyterian Church, where she was elected to honorary life membership in the Women of the Church.

Death
HOLLANDALE — Mrs. Laura Lee Anderson Furr, 93, former high school teacher, died Thursday at Guest House Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, La., after a long illness. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hollandale Cemetery. Boone Funeral Home of Leland has charge. She was a founding member of Hollandale Presbyterian Church with an honorary life membership in the Women of the Church. Mrs. Furr, the widow of Clinton L. Furr, leaves two daughters, Mrs. Beverly F. Baird and Ms. Mary Amanda Manning, both of Greenville, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to Hollandale Presbyterian Church.The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tennessee, January 21, 1989
