Steve Caudle Hyatt PEACHLAND - Mr. Steve Caudle Hyatt, 59, died Friday, October 4, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, October 7, 2013, at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul McClure officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home. Steve was born January 11, 1954, in Anson County, NC, a son of the late John Melvin Hyatt and Peggy Caudle Hyatt. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and was employed with Pilgrim's Pride in Marshville. Surviving are his wife, Melody Furr Hyatt of the home; his sons, Ryan (Mandy) Hyatt of Peachland and Luke (Anne) Hyatt of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Cooper, Tucker, Luke, Dock, Brady and Jax Hyatt; his brother, John (Deborah) Hyatt of Peachland; his sister-in-law, Judy Ratliff of Marshville; his mother-in-law, Emily Furr of Oakboro; his brother-in-law, Jimmy Furr of Oakboro and his nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mack Hyatt and by his grandmother, Orene "Mama Rene" Caudle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 or to the American Diabetes Association , 1300 Baxter St., Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
