Death
Dr. W. Carlton Rentz, 48, of 1631 Tigertail Ave., was found shot to death in his automobile at Bay Drive and Hiawatha Avenue, late yesterday. A .38 calibre revolver lay beside the body. Police believe he took his own life. Homicide detectives said members of the family told them Dr. Rentz had been in poor health or several years. With his brother, William, he had operated a clinic at 3435 NW 17th Ave. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. Services for Dr. W. Carlton Rentz, 48, of 1631 Tigertail Ave., who died Tuesday, were held today in the Riverside Baptist Church with Tracy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Dr. Rentz, who came to Miami from Nashville, Ga., 33 years ago, was a member of the Florida, Dade County, American and Southern Medical Associations. Surviving are his wife, Bobbye; two sons, Larry and Carl; a daughter, Carla; his mother, Mrs. W. C. Rentz, and six sisters, including Mrs. Richard Roland, Mrs. Ben Hendricks, Mrs. J. G. Grentner, Mrs. Jack Worley and Mrs. Dwight Burley, all in Miami.
