Death
Goldie Maxine Grissom, 93, of Greenville, Texas passed away Friday, June 7, 2024. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Middlebrook and David Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the services. Goldie was born in Mt. Joy, Texas on February 14, 1931, to Clarence “Dutch” and Lois (Furr) Gillean. They preceded her in death as well as her husband, Arthur “Reagan” Grissom and brother, Aubrey “Bud” Gillean. She and Reagan were married on June 23, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. Goldie was a Technical Engineer for Texas Instruments of Dallas. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Beecham and husband, Ron, of Crandall, Texas; daughter, Loretta Shaffer and husband, David, of Cooper, Texas; grandchildren: Danelle Burwell and family of Edmond, Oklahoma; Hayley Felch and family of Green Bay, Wisconsin; & Rami Matthews and family of Diana, Texas. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Goldie grew up on her parent’s farm in Mt. Joy. She graduated from Enloe High School, where she played post on the basketball team. After graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas and lived with her grandmother, Nancy Furr. She worked at the Dallas Federal Credit Union, as a secretary, before starting her long career at Texas Instruments - Dallas. She and Reagan raised their family in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Dallas. After retirement, they moved to Cedar Creek Lake. Her final years were lived out in Greenville Texas, at Harrison House Assisted Living (AKA: Countryside Senior Living).Endnotes
