Death
CHESTER, Feb. 9 — Funeral services were to be conducted at 3 p, m. today at the home at Chester for Mrs. Kathryn Cape Furr, 21, wife of Sam Junior Furr of Chester, who was killed in an automobile wreck five miles from Anderson Wednesday night. The services were to be conducted by the Rev. E. W. Buckner, minister of the Second Baptist church of Chester, after which the interment was to be in Evergreen cemetery at Chester. Mrs. Furr was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tillman Cape of Lincolnton, N. C., who survive her, along with her husband and two daughters, Kathryn Josephine Furr and Etterwa Deloris Furr both of Chester and the following 12 brothers and sisters: Jack Cape of Augusta, Ga.; Sgt. T. J. Cape in the Armed Service; Mrs. Avery Thomas of Ellerslie, Ga.; Mrs. Hazel Emory of Spartanburg; Mrs. Annie Mae Cameron of Chester; Junior Cape, Harlen Cape, Mary Helen Cape, Mrs. Patricia Fay, Marion Cape, Paul Cape and Franklin Cape all of Lincolnton. Mrs. Furr was a member of the Baptist church. Another sister, Mrs. Rastus Bryant of Ellerslie, Ga., was in the same car with her sister, Mrs. Furr, and was also killed. Mrs. Bryant's four-month old baby, Larry, was likewise in the car and was killed.The Columbia Record, Columbia, South Carolina, February 9, 1951
Burial
This young mother of 2 was killed in a tragic head on collision while on her way to visit family in Anderson. Her grave is unmarked in this cemetery, and due to the loss of records in a fire, the location may be lost.Endnotes
