Death

CONCORD William O'Dell Black, 84, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013. He was born Nov. 1, 1928, to Walter and Edna Black in West Jefferson. William worked as a Supervisor for Fenstra Factory in Harrisburg. William is survived by his loving spouse, Phyllis, of 54 years; two sons, Jeffery Black and wife, Tammy Furr-Black and Gary Black and wife, Tammy; daughter, Kelly Black-Meyer and husband, Ron; four granddaughters, Jamie Black Stirwalt and husband, Eric, Jessica Black, Megan Black and Lynzie Black; two great-granddaughters, Jayden Havens and Maddison Stirwalt; and great-grandson, Gage Simpson. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Black and mother, Edna Rose Huffman. Visitation will be held this evening (Sunday, June 2), from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, at 3 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, 199 Elgin Dr., Concord, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations.
