FORT WORTH — Lois Furr, 93, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, in Amarillo. Cryptside service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation: 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Mausoleum. Memorials: Springdale Baptist Church. Lois Furr was born Sept. 23, 1904, in Peaster. She had been a Fort Worth resident more than 50 years. She was a member of Springdale Baptist Church, Retired Teachers Association and North Fort Worth Woman's Club. She taught at Lake Worth Elementary, Arlington Heights Elementary and Monnig Junior High schools. She retired after 42 years in the classroom, where she instilled the mystery of math into hundreds of children, many who later became leading businesspeople of Fort Worth. She married Malcolm “Mike” Furr in 1949 in Fort Worth. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her husband in 1997. Survivors: Many nieces and nephews.
