Death

CONCORD Mrs. Kathleen Benton Furr, 80, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, with her family at her side. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Blessed Hope Tabernacle, in Harrisburg, where the body will lie in state. The funeral service will be held at the church, following the receiving, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Mrs. Furr was born July 25, 1932, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late David Benton and Tempie Veste Plummer Benton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Furr; one sister; and three brothers. Kathleen was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Hope Tabernacle. Survivors include her daughters, Patsy Knox, Debbie Robertson, Janet Blackwelder and Susan Gullette, all of Concord; eight grandchildren; and three great-grand-children.
