Death

VALPARAISO, IN Esther I. Furr, 84, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Willows. She was born August 7, 1928 in North Dakota to Clifford and Eva (Hummel) Zell. Esther graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1946. She then received her R.N. from Gary Methodist Hospital and went on to serve as a nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital for 18 years and many years afterwards at area nursing homes. Survivors include her children: Phillip (Peggy) Archer of Westville and Linda Millsap of Valparaiso; brother, Robert Zell of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Johnathon Archer, Amanda Johnson, Eric (Kyndra) Allbritten and Lindsey Johnson; great grandchildren: Emma, Camren, and Conner; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Archer in 1990; her second husband, Wilmer Furr in 1993; sister, Vera Joyce Evans in 1983; and her brother, Victor Zell in 2007. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso with burial to follow at Blake Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
